DELO-DUOPOX Two-Part Epoxy Resin Adhesives
DELO-DUOPOX two-part epoxy adhesives cure at room temperature when resin and hardener are mixed together, with no UV lamp, heat source or metal substrate required. Available in mixing ratios from 1:1 to 1:5, DELO-DUOPOX covers structural bonding, casting, potting and sealing across electronics, automotive, aerospace and industrial applications.
What is DELO-DUOPOX?
DELO-DUOPOX is a range of two-part epoxy adhesives consisting of a resin and hardener that remain stable in isolation and cure through a chemical reaction when mixed together in the correct ratio. Unlike one-part systems, two-part epoxies require no external energy source, UV lamp, oven or metal substrate to polymerise. The adhesive cures at room temperature to form a rigid, high-strength structural bond.
DELO-DUOPOX adhesives are supplied in DELO Side-by-Side cartridges that present resin and hardener in the correct ratio through a static mixing nozzle, removing the need for manual weighing or mixing and supporting consistent results in both manual and automated dispensing environments.

New Thermally Conductive DELO-DUOPOX Adhesive
Brand new from DELO is a two-part epoxy, DELO-DUOPOX TC8686, that is used for rotor bonding in e-motors where thermal conductivity is a requirement. It also meets the requirements of the ANSI/UL 94 V-0 Flame Test specification, and shows no degradation in bond strength even after storage at 80ºC for 500 hours.
Advantages of Two-Part Epoxy Adhesives
Two-part epoxies cure through a room temperature chemical reaction, making them suitable for applications where UV lamps, ovens or heat sources are not available or practical. This processing flexibility extends adhesive bonding to any substrate combination without requiring specialist curing infrastructure.
When assemblies face sustained mechanical loads, thermal cycling or chemical exposure, room temperature two-part epoxies distribute stress evenly across the full joint area rather than concentrating it at discrete fixing points. This reduces fatigue failure risk and supports miniaturisation by replacing mechanical fastening.
Additional benefits include:
- Stress distribution across the full joint area, reducing fatigue failure compared with riveting or spot welding
- Processing flexibility with no requirement for UV, heat source or specific substrate type
- Extended open times on standard grades, allowing time for complex or large-area assembly operations
- Broad temperature operating range from -65°C to 180°C on selected grades
- Chemical and moisture resistance supporting long service life in harsh environments
- Room temperature cure eliminates the need for oven capacity in potting and encapsulation processes

Two-Part Epoxy Adhesives for Structural Bonding and Industrial Assembly
DELO-DUOPOX adhesives are specified in structural bonding and mechanical joining applications where high strength, chemical resistance and room temperature cure are required without a UV lamp, heat source or metal substrate to trigger polymerisation.
Structural joining grades bond metal, plastic, glass and composite components where the adhesive replaces or supplements mechanical fastening methods. The cured bond distributes stress evenly across the full joint area rather than concentrating it at discrete fixing points, reducing fatigue failure risk in assemblies under sustained dynamic or impact loading. Selected SJ-series grades offer temperature resistance up to 180°C for structural joints in automotive and industrial equipment operating under sustained elevated temperatures.
For potting and encapsulation of electronic assemblies, sensor housings and electromechanical components, DELO-DUOPOX casting resin grades protect against mechanical shock, vibration and chemical exposure over extended service life. Room temperature cure removes the need for an oven in the potting process, and grades with extended open times allow complete filling of complex housing geometries before polymerisation begins.
Key characteristics include:
- Full joint area stress distribution rather than point loading at fastening locations
- Temperature resistance up to 180°C on selected SJ-series structural grades
- Extended open times on casting grades supporting complex geometry filling
- No oven requirement for potting and encapsulation operations
- Broad substrate compatibility across metals, plastics, composites and ceramics
Two-Part Epoxy Adhesives for Electronics, Aerospace and Specialist Applications
DELO-DUOPOX adhesives are used in electronics and automotive sensor assembly for bonding, glob top encapsulation and die attach applications where high chemical resistance and temperature stability are required. The range includes grades qualified for chip-on-board encapsulation, protecting bare dies and wire bonds from mechanical stress, thermal cycling and chemical exposure in automotive sensor applications across operating temperatures from -65°C to 180°C.
Aerospace bonding grades are qualified for commercial and industrial aerospace assembly applications, including honeycomb bonding, insert positioning and interior element bonding for seats, shelves and screens. AB-series grades meet relevant aeronautical standards and offer resistance to Skydrol hydraulic fluid, supporting use in both structural and interior assembly applications.
Rapid adhesive grades reach firm-to-touch in under 10 minutes at room temperature, supporting high-throughput production lines where extended cure times would create bottlenecks. Rapid grades are available in the DELO Side-by-Side cartridge format for consistent mix ratio and dispensing in automated assembly environments, without requiring UV curing equipment or oven capacity.

How Two-Part Epoxy Adhesives Work in Automated and Manual Assembly
Manufacturers use two-part epoxy adhesives when they need room temperature cure without specialist curing infrastructure, processing flexibility across substrate types, or extended open times for complex assembly operations. Unlike one-part systems that require external energy sources, two-part epoxies polymerise through a chemical reaction triggered by mixing.
The DELO Side-by-Side cartridge system pre-doses resin and hardener in the correct ratio, eliminating manual weighing and mixing steps. When components are passed through a static mixing nozzle, the two parts combine, and the chemical cross-linking reaction begins immediately, producing a gel-like consistency that progresses to firm-to-touch and finally to full strength. Rapid grades reach processing strength in under 10 minutes, whilst standard grades offer open times up to 8 hours before cure begins.
The cured bond forms a rigid, high-strength structure with resistance to sustained mechanical loads, thermal cycling, chemical exposure and vibration. Heat can be applied optionally to accelerate the cure process where production cycle times require it.
Key characteristics include:
- Room temperature polymerisation triggered by mixing, with no external energy source required
- Chemical cross-linking produces a rigid, high-strength cured structure
- Flexible cure speed ranges from under 10 minutes to 8 hours, depending on the application
- Optional heat acceleration available to speed cure where cycle times require it
- Static mixing nozzle ensures the correct mix ratio in both manual and automated dispensing
