Tweezer Peel Pull Test
Tweezer Peel Pull Test Overview:
- Test Large Wire, Ribbons, Tracks etc.
- Perform True Peel Pull Testing @ 90o
- Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing
- Range of Actuated or Manual Tweezers
- Actuated Systems to 10Kg, Manual to 100Kg
Tweezer pull test cartridges provide the capability for systems to perform peel pull testing, plus tensile testing of materials.
Measuring the strength of the bond between different materials is important both for quality control and for assessing the effect of changing materials and surface treatments. Example applications include the peel testing of various interconnects including ribbon and large wire bonds, PCB track adhesion testing and tensile testing of copper wire bonds, where micro-jaws are used to grip the product during test etc.
A critical aspect of the peel test methodology is that a true 90 degree angle to the bond is maintained ensuring that a linear load is applied. Nordson DAGE provides this by using software to control the standard tweezer and the XY stage. The force measured often depends on substrate properties (dimensions, elastic modulus and plasticity) and in the case of an adhesive, adhesive thickness.
A range of dedicated tweezer test cartridges are available with actuated jaws for testing up to 10Kg or manual adaptors for use with pull test cartridges, for testing up to 100Kg.
