The Advanced Research Systems PS NANO is an ultra low vibration nanoscience probe station designed for cryogenic electrical, RF, microwave, and optical characterisation of nanoscale and quantum devices. It is specifically engineered for applications where mechanical stability and measurement repeatability are critical at low temperatures.

The system provides cryogen free closed cycle operation and allows consecutive device metrology without breaking vacuum or warming the system. This supports higher throughput and improved repeatability in sensitive, low temperature measurement environments.

Ultra Low Vibration Cryogenic Measurement Capability

For nanoscience and quantum device characterisation, maintaining stable probe contact at cryogenic temperatures is often the limiting factor. The PS NANO is designed specifically to minimise vibration at the sample plate, delivering stability in the 10 to 20 nm range, while still providing the benefits of cryogen free, closed cycle cooling.

This combination supports sensitive electrical transport, microwave, and optoelectronic measurements where probe stability and repeatability are essential.

Probe and Measurement Flexibility

The PS NANO platform supports up to six DC, RF, or fibre optic probe arms, enabling flexible configuration for a wide range of device types and test methods. A choice of 1 inch or 2 inch measurement areas accommodates both fine nanoscale structures and larger device layouts, while maintaining precise probe motion and repeatable contact.

Electrical, RF, and Optical Integration

Custom wiring options support DC and microwave measurements from 0 to 67 GHz, enabling high frequency device characterisation at cryogenic temperatures. Large optical access ports allow straightforward integration of optical instrumentation for photonic and optoelectronic studies.
