The SUSS LP50 is designed for research and development of inkjet processes and applications. The LP50 is a desktop R&D inkjet printer for functional printing applications and the evaluation and development of inkjet materials.
An open, accurate, flexible and easy-to-use system, the LP50 will allow you to work at the cutting edge of inkjet printing technology. Designed and used for a wide range of applications such as semiconductor packaging, PCBs, printed electronics, photovoltaics, displays and biomedical.
Highlights of the desktop LP50 include: high accuracy motion systems; fast and accurate exchange of printheads and inks; open architecture which enables user-defined and application-specific functionalities; automated printhead maintenance, including capping, purging, spitting & wiping; easy transfer of process recipes to SUSS production printers.
The SUSS LP50 has a number of options which can be added to further enhance your inkjet printing research. One such option is the advanced drop analysis (ADA). This is a software utility that enables fully automated multi-dimensional analysis of ink drop formation and allows the fast and efficient optimisation of the jetting performance of specific inks and printheads. Additional optional features include automated print optimisation (APO) which enables quick and effective definition of the optimal print settings and the advanced gerber file rasterizer which enables the conversion of Gerber files to an inkjet bitmap format minimising the typical rounding and pixelisation errors to conserve the fidelity of the original design.
The LP50 is compatible with a variety of industrial printheads and cartridges enabling the user to select the best suited to their task. Compatible OEM printhead suppliers include Fujifilmboth Dimatix 9DMC) and Spectra S Class, XAAR, Konica Minolta and OCE CrsytalPoint.

What is a Inkjet Printer for Printed Electronics?
An inkjet printer for printed electronics is a type of additive manufacturing system. It allows for precise deposition of functional materials on surfaces like silicon wafers and printed circuit boards.
This non-contact process is different from traditional lithography. It uses tiny droplets ejected from advanced printheads, which are deposited exactly where needed, based on digital patterns.
Key Components of a Inkjet Printer for Printed Electronics
- Printheads: Supports industrial & disposable types; droplet sizes from 2.4 to 80 pL.
- Ink Supply System: For nanoparticle, hotmelt, solvent-based or UV-curable inks
- Motion Platform: High-accuracy X, Y, Z, and rotational stages
- Alignment: Integrated vision system for component pre-alignment
- Substrate Chuck: With clamping and optional heating and cooling systems
- Printhead Maintenance Station: Automated purging, spitting, capping, and wiping
- Integrated UV LED Curing: Enables simultaneous printing and curing
- Software Tools: Advanced drop analysis, print optimization & Gerber rasterization
