What is an “Open Tube” X-ray System?
An open tube X-ray system is a type of X-ray source design where the internal components, such as the filament and target, are accessible and replaceable by the user. Unlike sealed tube systems, which are closed and typically require factory servicing when components wear out, open tube systems allow for on-site maintenance, particularly the replacement of the filament, which is the part that generates electrons.
