What do Microswitch Sealing Adhesives do?
Microswitches in automotive systems often require sealing against harsh environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, moisture, and chemical exposure. Because of the difficulties in bonding to silicone without pre-treatment, sealing a molded silicone cover to a microswitch is best achieved with DELO-GUM silicone adhesives. The viscosity is tailored to flow well along the surface area, and also fill the gap between the two materials.
Tests for the completed bond include temperature shock from -40°C to +120°C; temperature cycling between -40°C and +130°C; achieve a seal to IP67; and chemical resistance against motor oil, fuel, brake fluid, and various screen-washes.

DELO-GUM dispensing control
After joining the silicone cover to the plastic housing, DELO-GUM is applied in a bead along the circular groove. Volumetric dispensing is recommended to tightly control the amount of adhesive being dispensed, and full cure is achieved in approx. 20 hours.
